I am at present at the University of completing my certificate in accounting. I already have a BS in general business conditions. I did some volunteer work this summer for a CPA. I would like into find a part time entry level accounting position, as I gather most of my classes at the university, the necessary experience. Please can you tell me what is the best position into Accounting field for an entry. Thanks in expand for your advice.

You could try calling around into your local CPA firms into see if they are looking into bring on any part-time help. This will most likely be easier in Dec/Jan since it will be tax season. If you can’t find a CPA firm that needs your help, think about taking the class (or you can try into test out) for H&R Block. The tax experience will help on your job hunt once out of school.
I am also a ‘new’ accountant (meaning I just got my degree 2 years ago) & haven’t seen any part-time jobs in the accounting field in the places I have looked. My husband is in the Coast Guard, so am currently in Mobile, AL but have also worked in Portland, ME & Charlotte, NC. I would love into have a part-time job since I have a 2-year-old but I’m overqualified for bookkeeping & I haven’t found all else that needed a part-time accountant.
Once you are out of school & can do full-time, you may move right into the Staff Accountant type role or start at Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable & work your way up from there. You should apply for all
